Oxford Circus 7.25 Outland West Coast IPA A Wonderful Intimate Venue. The Shaston Arms is located in the heart of Soho just a stone's throw away from Carnaby Street. The nearest Tube is Oxford Street, it’s a five minute stroll to get here. You may be forgiven for thinking this is a Victorian pub that has been around for over 150 years. This pub is actually two shops that were converted as recently as the year 2000. This pub is run by Dorset brewers Hall & Woodhouse. Shaston is the medieval name for Shaftesbury, the Dorset town near the brewery. This is cosy low ceilinged pub full of narrow walkways, nooks and crannies. The decor here is traditional with dark wood panels, etched mirrors, old fireplaces and candle sconces around the walls. The servery is located at the front right and is a bit of a bugger to access when it’s busy. The seating here is intimate with a mix of banquettes, booths and a couple high stools by a ledge. The beer choice is a broad selection of @badgerbeers which you don’t see too often in London pubs. I thought i’d try the Outland West Coast IPA, this was my first try of this tipple and very enjoyable it was too, price point was a tad lofty. There are pint deals on a Monday, selected draught pints are on offer for a fiver. There is no food served here. I met up with my Son around 4pm for a few midweek birthday beers. The pub was quiet with a couple of other punters plotted up in the booths. The atmosphere as you can imagine was chilled and relaxed, having said that, even when it’s busy here there is such a relaxing vibe. There are fifty or so pubs located in Soho and I have to say the @shastonarms.london has to be one of my favourites. This is a marvellous pub with bags of character and a great place to have an intimate pint. This is a must visit London pub. i Info correct on visiting 21.02.24

A best kept secret pub in the heart of Oxford Street with bags of charm. Their Badger brand IPA beers are bold and creative with choices including ginger & honey, elderflower and a robust coffee stout. Delightful boozer!

Really good place to come and relax, the staff were amazing (so friendly and welcoming). In the heart of London I felt like I was back in Colombia. Carolyn was the most amazing barmaid, helpful and smiling. Lovely all round x

I had a very pleasant experience at the Shaston Arms, as always. Most importantly, the hospitality from the team is incredible. Today, I was served by Dave, and he made it a full experience as usual, not just an order. Always grateful for this pub and happy after my visits!

Discovered this gem of a pub around 2007 and they've just celebrated 25 years. Great landlord and have never been let down by friendly, quick serving staff. It's a Soho classic

A lot if people wouldn't understand how an average pub gets 5 stars. These pubs are rare in London. Ps it's called The Lady Shaston now.

Welcome to my latest exploration of culinary delights and atmospheric retreats! Today, I invite you to join me at The Shaston Arms, a hidden gem nestled in the bustling streets of Soho, just a short stroll from the iconic Carnaby Street. This charming pub effortlessly combines the historic allure of Victorian design with the modern sophistication of a contemporary drinking establishment.

As I stepped into The Shaston Arms, I was immediately enveloped by its intimate ambiance. The low ceilings, adorned with dark wood panels and flickering candle sconces, create a cozy, welcoming setting. Narrow walkways lead you through an enchanting maze of booths and banquettes, perfect for a quiet pint shared with friends or even a solitary moment of reflection.

One of the standout features of The Shaston Arms is its impressive selection of Badger beers, expertly crafted by the renowned Dorset brewers Hall & Woodhouse. The offerings vary from bold IPAs to delightful seasonal brews, and I couldn't resist sampling the Outland West Coast IPA. This particular beer features a delightful balance of flavors that leaves a lasting impression, though the pricing is a touch on the higher side. However, the pub hosts pint deals on Mondays, making it an enticing destination for a midweek tipple.

The Shaston Arms may not serve food, but its warm atmosphere and exceptional service more than compensate for the lack of a menu. Customer reviews highlight the hospitality of the staff, with comments commending the welcoming nature of the team, especially the likes of Carolyn and Dave. Their attentive service enhances the overall experience, ensuring the pub feels like a home away from home.

In the heart of London's vibrant West End, the Shaston Arms is a must-visit for anyone craving a drink with character. With its historical charm and relaxed vibe, it stands out as not just another pub, but as a true London institution. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is a place where you can unwind and enjoy a drink steeped in tradition, within a delightful atmosphere. I left The Shaston Arms with a smile, already planning my next visit to this remarkable watering hole.
